Stuff and Nonsense
A new workshop for 2024.
I am looking at the potential of using nonsense, a genre that celebrates absolute nonconformity, lateral thinking, and wit as a starting point for a character development workshop.
Exploring the ergonomics of character and how we can create characters from juxtaposition and lateral thinking processes. In these workshops we seek to create the world in which this character exists, or coexists with other nonsensical or abstract beings.
This project was funded for a series of workshops this year as part of FEAST's ArtsLab youth creative health and wellbeing programme.
Previous Workshops
'Monster Masks' made from willow and recycled materials.
Hired by a number of youth groups, events and festivals throughout the South West and Wales
Life Drawing Classes
Ran as regular 6 or 12 week block evening classes and for 6th form college students over a number of years.
Alongside Oil and Watercolour painting classes, as part of a small programme of events I hosted at the Town Hall in Okehampton.
